Our Story

Chef Patrick Zeng's journey began in humble beginnings, growing up in the heart of New York City beneath the shadow of the Manhattan Bridge. In a compact 500 sq ft tenement apartment shared with his parents, grandparents, and older brother, he learned the value of hard work from a young age. Negotiating $3-5 chore deals with his mom—tasks like dishes and floor scrubbing—unwittingly sparked his lifelong passion for hospitality. Starting as a busboy at just 14, Patrick dove headfirst into the bustling world of hospitality. From navigating wild nights behind the bar to inadvertently causing wok fires in the kitchen, each experience added fuel to his entrepreneurial spirit. Today, he proudly leads "Skews Mi," a thriving food trailer business specializing in Asian street food. Patrick's journey is a testament to resilience, innovation, and the transformative power of hard work. Through "Skews Mi," he brings a taste of Asian culinary culture to the forefront, blending authenticity with a modern twist. Join us in savoring Patrick's culinary journey—one skewer at a time.
 
Our founder, Chef Patrick Zeng, drew inspiration from New York City's vibrant food scene, blending it with a world of culinary experience, including formal training in Malaysia, Singapore and a degree in Holistic Nutrition. We’re beyond excited to introduce Christopher Lee, our brilliant co-founder. A Korean-Chinese New Yorker and F.I.T. Fashion Marketing grad, Christopher's got the magic touch for branding. Fresh off his success in the clothing biz, he’s now channeling his savvy to help us serve up quick, wholesome meals that busy college students can't resist. His unique flair and keen eye are just what we need to spice things up.
